Marcus L. Martin, Esq. – Managing Partner

Marcus L. Martin serves as the Managing Partner of M.L. Martin & Furnace, LLC (formerly M.L. Martin Law, LLC). While primarily responsible for overseeing the operations of the firm, Mr. Martin’s practice is concentrated in family law. He handles a wide range of matters, including but not limited to divorce, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, and protection from abuse cases.

Mr. Martin’s legal career began during his law school years at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he gained valuable experience during his first internship at The Eshelman Law Office, focusing exclusively on family law. He further honed his skills as an intern with the Office of General Counsel at Seton Hill University, where he was responsible for drafting and reviewing contracts, purchasing agreements, and assisting with complex legal matters in higher education.

Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Martin joined the esteemed law firm Fox Rothschild, LLP. There, he supported the Immigration Group, managing cases related to asylum, family-based visas, adjustment of status, and employment authorization. Additionally, he prepared clients for interviews with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

After passing the Bar Exam, Mr. Martin continued his legal journey at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellot, LLC, where he worked as a Contract Attorney, representing multiple pharmaceutical companies in defense litigation. In 2020, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Martin founded M.L. Martin Law, LLC.

Outside of his professional work, Mr. Martin is committed to giving back to the community. He volunteers his time to provide legal advice on family law matters through talks at the Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation. He is also an active member of the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Education

Marcus received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2018. While in Law School, Marcus served as the President of the Hispanic Law Society. Marcus also received a CALI award (best grade) in his class of Family Law. He received his B.A. in Criminology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2015 and served as the President of the Pre-Law Society for two terms.
